Spam Mails and How to Deal with Them

Spam mails, also known as junk mails, are unsolicited mails sent in bulks. It is a form of commercial advertising, but can be dangerous as some of them may contain phishing links and virus attachments.
You will receive spam mails if your email is listed in the spammers database, which originates from various source, such as websites, newsletters subscribers, address books of a virus-infected computer and more.

Our mail servers are equipped with multiple layers of antispam filtering mechanism, that will block away 95% of spam mails most of the time.
We cannot set the filtering too strict, as it will reject away legit mails from legit mail servers that are improperly configured.

To block spam mails effectively, users are always advisable to install and enable client-side antispam filtering. Usually, it is bundled with antivirus application and can be integrated in email application such as MS Outlook.

Below are some tips to cut down spam mails.
- Do not publish email address online, for example on company's website, petitions, webpages or other similar pages.
- Do not send/reply email to any untrusted parties.
- Do not use your email address to sign up any untrusted services on any website.
- Avoid clicking onto suspicious links or attachments in email, as they may contain virus or lead you to phishing sites.
