.edu.my is reserved only for Malaysian educational organizations.
Below is the list of supporting document accepted for .edu.my registration, please refer to the respective educational institution category for the correct document required.
The document must be active and ready upon domain name application.

A. Supporting Documents for Government Educational Institution

Polytechnic under Ministry of Education administration

University under the administration of Ministry of Education pursuant to Universities and University Colleges Act 1971 (Akta Universiti dan Kolej Universiti 1971)

Maktab Rendah Sains Mara (MRSM) under the administration of MARA, pursuant to Majlis Amanah Rakyat Act 1966 (Akta Majlis Amanah Rakyat 1966)


B. Supporting Documents for Private Educational Institution

ORGANIZATION

SUPPORTING DOCUMENT(S)

Private Kindergarten
  • Temporary Certification which is Form F from the respective State Education Department and the official letter from Private Kindergarten.
  • Certification which is Form D from the respective State Education Department and the official letter from Private Kindergarten

Private Schools (Education Act 1961, Section 48 or Education Act 1996/1997)
  • Official Letter from the relevant State Education Department for school setup approval and the official letter from the private schools
  • Educational Institution Registration Certificate and the official letter from the private schools.

    Note: The Registrant’s name should be the name of the school as stated on the certificate. NOT the name of the owner of the school.

Private Higher Educational Institutions (Private Higher Educational Institutions Act 1996)

 

  • Certification or Official Letter from Department of Private Education approving the setup of the institution and the official letter from the Private Higher Educational Institutions.

    Note: The Registrant’s name should be the name of the institution as stated on the certificate, NOT the name of the owner of the institution.

Educational Institutions Accredited by Relevant Government Departments/Agencies
  • Certification letter from the relevant government department or agency accrediting/registering the institution and the official letter from the institution or
  • The official letter from the relevant government department or agency accrediting/registering the institution.

Educational institutions accredited by the Jabatan Pembangunan Kemahiran (JPK), or the Department of Skills Development in Malaysia, fall under the National Skills Development Act 2006 (Akta Pembangunan Kemahiran Kebangsaan 2006), also known as Act 652.
  • Certification of Accreditation (Sijil/Perakuan Pentauliahan) by JPK to offer skills training programs under the National Skills Development Act 2006 (Act 652).
  • The official letter from the institution is also required


C. Supporting Documents for Private Religious Schools

ORGANIZATION

Private Religious School
  • Religious School Registration Certificate or Religious Educational Institution Registration Certification or Letter – issued by the state Islamic religious department or council and the official letter from the religious school
